Well, once you hear semiya dosa, you may think I may have crushed and powdered the semiya noodles. However, on the contrary, I have used it as it is and mixed it with thin liquid dosa batter. Hence once the dosa batter is poured into dosa pan and it settles down, it would yield a crisp and crunchy dosa. In addition, you may also try the same dosa with thin semiya used in faloda or milk dessert. Ingredients
- ½ cup semiya / vermicelli
- 1 cup rice flour
- ¼ cup rava
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- 5 cup water
- ½ onion, finely chopped
- ½ carrot, grated
- few curry leaves, chopped
- 2 tbsp coriander, chopped
- 2 chilli, finely chopped
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- oil, for roasting
Instructions
- firstly, roast ½ cup semiya until it turns golden brown.
- cool completely and transfer to a large bowl.
- add 1 cup rice flour, ¼ cup rava, 1 tsp cumin and 1 tsp salt,
- pour 5 cup water and mix using a whisk.
- cover and rest for 10 minutes.
- now add ½ onion, ½ carrot, few curry leaves, 2 tbsp coriander, 2 chilli, and 1 inch ginger.
- mix well. you can see the batter is watery. you can adjust the consistency by adding water if required.
- when the pan is super hot, pour the batter on the pan.
- spread 1 tsp oil and allow to roast for 2 minutes or until the dosa turns crisp.
