It is super quick, instant, and more importantly, does not require any additional planning. However, you may get bored with the same rava or rice flour dosa and you may crave something different. One such easy and simple instant dosa recipe is the Instant Semiya Dosa Recipe known for its crispiness.

As I was explaining earlier, this recipe is an extension of the popular rava dosa recipe. In other words, to the same instant rava dosa batter, I have added semiya noodles which would yield a crisp and crunchy dosa. Well, once you hear semiya dosa, you may think I may have crushed and powdered the semiya noodles. However, on the contrary, I have used it as it is and mixed it with thin liquid dosa batter. Hence once the dosa batter is poured into dosa pan and it settles down, it would yield a crisp and crunchy dosa. In addition, you may also try the same dosa with thin semiya used in faloda or milk dessert. Firstly, I have used semiya noodles as it is, however you may finely powder and use them. Basically, it would be similar to rava or rice flour. Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup semiya / vermicelli
  • 1 cup rice flour
  • ¼ cup rava
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 5 cup water
  • ½ onion, finely chopped
  • ½ carrot, grated
  • few curry leaves, chopped
  • 2 tbsp coriander, chopped
  • 2 chilli, finely chopped
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • oil, for roasting

Instructions
 

  • firstly, roast ½ cup semiya until it turns golden brown.
  • cool completely and transfer to a large bowl.
  • add 1 cup rice flour, ¼ cup rava, 1 tsp cumin and 1 tsp salt,
  • pour 5 cup water and mix using a whisk.
  • cover and rest for 10 minutes.
  • now add ½ onion, ½ carrot, few curry leaves, 2 tbsp coriander, 2 chilli, and 1 inch ginger.
  • mix well. you can see the batter is watery. you can adjust the consistency by adding water if required.
  • when the pan is super hot, pour the batter on the pan.
  • spread 1 tsp oil and allow to roast for 2 minutes or until the dosa turns crisp.
  • finally, enjoy the crispy semiya dosa recipe with onion chutney.
