crispy corn manchuriancrispy corn recipe | crispy corn manchurian recipe with step by step photo and video recipe. corn manchurian recipe is prepared very similar to any other manchurian. but it tastes great because of sweet and juicy kernels and especially when deep fried with corn flour. moreover, it is tossed with hot and sweet tomato ketchup sauce which would enhance the taste to next level.

while i am not a huge fan of deep fried snacks, but crispy corn has a special place in my snacks list. perhaps the main reason i like it even though it is a deep fried snack because it does not absorbs oil. basically, frying the corn kernels in oil will help to cook them fast without absorbing much oil. in addition, i have added hot and sweet tomato ketchup sauce because i personally like it. alternatively, simple tomato ketchup with chilli sauce can also be used which would produce the same result.

furthermore, some ticks and tips for a crispy corn manchurian recipe. fresh and juicy sweet corn is preferred for this recipe.  however, if you do not have access to it, use frozen sweet corn kernels. secondly, do not over cook the kernels in hot oil. remove them when they turn golden brown, or otherwise the kernels may start bursting. lastly, add chopped spring onions and/or cilantro as a topping just before serving.

Ingredients
  • 2 sweet corn
  • ½ tsp kashmiri chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • ½ tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp corn flour
  • oil for deep frying
for tempering:
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup maggi hot and sweet tomato chilli sauce
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp pepper, crushed
  • salt to taste
Instructions ( 1 cup =255 ml)
  1. firstly, remove the skin from the corn.
  2. also take a sharp knife and scrape off the kernels slowly.
  3. furthermore, transfer the kernels to a bowl.
  4. and add chilli powder, salt, ginger garlic paste.
  5. also add tomato sauce and give a good mix. this helps to enhance the flavour and also helps in binding corn flour to the corn.
  6. furthermore add corn flour and give a good mix. make sure the kernels are dry. else add more corn flour.
  7. then deep fry the corn kernels on medium heat oil.
  8. also stir in between till the kernels turn crispy and golden.
  9. further, drain out to a kitchen towel to remove excess oil.
tempering recipe:
  1. firstly, in a large kadai heat oil.
  2. further, saute garlic till they turn slightly golden brown.
  3. then add maggi hot and sweet tomato chilli sauce. you can also make use of tomato sauce and chilli sauce.
  4. furthermore, add vinegar, soy sauce, pepper and salt.
  5. give a good mix and get sauce to a boil.
  6. then add fried crispy corn to the sauce and mix well.
  7. finally, serve immediately. optionally, top with few chopped spring onions.

notes:

  • make sure to use fresh corn for more rich taste and flavour.
  • furthermore, add green chilli and ginger along with garlic if you prefer.
  • additionally, be careful while deep frying corn as there are chances for corn to burst. so do not be very near to oil after you drop corn into oil.
  • finally, instead of hot and sweet sauce, use combination of tomato sauce and chilli sauce.
