Cotton Dosa Recipe | Soft & Spongy Dosa Recipe with just 3 ingredients with step by step photo and video recipe. dosa recipes have always been traditionally prepared with a simple combination of rice and urad dal batter. the texture and smoothness can be easily varied by adjusting the ratio between these 2. however, you may also add a different ingredients list, to make it even more interesting with its taste and texture. one such simple dosa recipe is Cotton Dosa Recipe, known for its softness.

well, you may wonder why this recipe is known as Cotton Dosa. trust me, cotton is not used or one of the ingredients to make this dosa batter. the name cotton name is derived due to its softness and smoothness. the combination of rice, Rava and coconut makes it one of the spongy and soft dosas. some may refer to this set as sponge dosa, but I would disagree with it. if you notice, the ingredients list is totally different and the flavour of coconut makes it totally a different flavoured dosa. in addition, I am also convinced that in terms of softness cotton dosa is much softer than compared to set dosa. so I would heavily recommend you to try this recipe once and see how it goes with your friends and family.

furthermore, some more additional tips, suggestions and variants to the Cotton Dosa Recipe. firstly, this recipe is no soda, no yeast and no urad dal dosa recipe. yet it is naturally fermented to get an airy and soft texture. you may hasten the process by adding baking soda or eno salt for the same texture. secondly, the dosa has to be poured on a hot dosa pan and also do not try to spread it. it has to be thick so that the soft texture can easily hold its shape. lastly, my personal favourite combination with this dosa is a spicy red chutney, but you can serve it with simple coconut chutney too. make sure to make it spicier for the best results.
