macaroni recipe | macaroni pasta recipe | indian recipe of macaroni with detailed photo and video recipe. basically a indian version of dry pasta recipe which are typically prepared with narrow elbow-shaped macaroni pasta. traditionally was originated from italy and was served with parmesan cheese but has been adapted and improvised by several other cuisine.
i come from south india and hence my daily breakfast’s would be usually dosa recipes or idli recipes. however on some odd day, i try to explore different cuisine from other part of world and try to infuse it to my daily breakfast. one such recipe is easy indian recipe of macaroni. while i also prepare the other variation of pasta recipes like white sauce pasta and red sauce pasta recipe, but i personally like this recipe a lot. the main reason being, it is easy simple and quick compared to other pasta recipes.
furthermore, some important tips and suggestions for a delicious macaroni pasta recipe. firstly, i have added cheddar cheese at last to top the pasta. while indian style macaroni, usually does not have it, but i like it with cheese. secondly, you can also add garam masala to this pasta to make it more chatpata and spicy. lastly, i have used elbow shaped pasta for this recipe. you can also use any cylindrical cone shaped, spiral or any other desired shape pasta for this simple macaroni pasta recipe.

Ingredients
to cook pasta:
- 1 cup macaroni pasta (any shape)
- 1 tsp oil
- salt to taste
- water as required to boil
to prepare macaroni pasta:
- 2 tsp olive oil / any cooking oil
- 2 cloves garlic / lasun (finely chopped)
- ½ onion (finely chopped)
- 1 to mato (finely chopped)
- 5 florets broccoli
- ½ carrot (finely chopped)
- ½ capsicum (cubed)
- ½ tsp kashmiri red chili powder / lal mirch powder
- ½ tsp aamchur / dry mango powder
- salt to taste
- 2-3 tbsp tomato sauce
- ½ tsp pepper (crushed)
- 2 tsp cheddar cheese (grated (optional))
- few spring onion greens (finely chopped)
Instructions
- firstly, heat a large kadai with oil and saute garlic.
- furthermore add in onions and saute well.
- additionally, add in tomatoes and saute till they turn soft and mushy.
- now add vegetables of your choice.
- saute for 2 minutes or till vegetables are half cooked.
- now add in ½ tsp chili powder, ½ tsp aamchur and salt to taste.
- saute on low flame till the spices gets cooked well.
- additionally, add in 2-3 tbsp tomato sauce and ½ tsp crushed pepper. give a good mix.
- furthermore, add cooked macaroni.
- mix gently, coating the masala sauce well.
- transfer to the serving bowl and grate cheese.
- finally, serve veg macaroni garnished with chopped spring onions for your breakfast.
how to make indian style recipe of macaroni with step by step photo:
- firstly, boil enough water in a large sauce pan.
- further add in 1 cup macaroni pasta.
- also add 1 tsp oil and salt to taste.
- give a stir making sure oil is mixed well.
- now allow to boil for 10 minutes, stir in between to prevent pasta from sticking at bottom. (different brands may vary in size and cooking time)
- cook until al dente.
- drain off the macaroni and pour cold water to stop cooking process. keep aside.
- further, heat a large kadai with oil and saute garlic.
- furthermore add in onions and saute well.
- additionally, add in tomatoes and saute till they turn soft and mushy.
- now add vegetables of your choice ( i have used carrot, broccoli and capsicum)
- saute for 2 minutes or till vegetables are half cooked.
- now add in ½ tsp chili powder, ½ tsp aamchur and salt to taste.
- saute on low flame till the spices gets cooked well.
- additionally, add in 2-3 tbsp tomato sauce and ½ tsp crushed pepper. give a good mix.
- furthermore, add cooked macaroni.
- mix gently, coating the masala sauce well.
- transfer to the serving bowl and grate cheese.
- finally, serve veg macaroni garnished with chopped spring onions for your breakfast.
notes:
- firstly, make sure not to over cook pasta as they turn too soft and sticky.
- also, after cooking, rinse in cold water to prevent from further cooking and turn pasta soggy,
- furthermore, adjust the amount of chili powder based on your spice level.
- finally, veg macaroni taste great when served hot.
