well, i am not a huge fan of smoothie recipes and i generally prefer milkshake recipes as it contains ice cream in it. generally, smoothie recipes are made with just the combination of any required fruit with full cream milk. hence it is termed as healthy or filling drink snack. however, my preference is always a milkshake recipe as it contains a generous amount of choice of ice cream in it. by adding ice cream, it not only improves the consistency of the beverage but also gives a nice and creamy taste to it. however, with the combination of banana and avocado, you would achieve the same as both banana and avocado get the same creamy consistency when blended with milk.

avocado banana smoothiefurthermore, i would like to add some more tips, suggestions and variations to avocado banana smoothie recipe. firstly, in this recipe, i have used only banana and avocado to make the smoothie. however, there is no restriction o using other fruits with these 2 fruits. you can use other tropical fruits like mango, kiwi and even grape. secondly, you can extend the same recipe by adding ice cream scoops and blend it to a smooth and creamy beverage. you may add ice cream flavours like vanilla, blackcurrant and even butterscotch can be added. lastly, the smoothie made from avocado has to be thick like ice cream and hence do not dilute by adding more milk. also, make sure to add full cream milk and avoid skim milk for better result.

Ingredients

  • 1 avocado
  • ½ banana
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 cup milk, chilled

!for serving (1 glass):

  • ¼ banana, slice
  • 1 tbsp dry fruits, chopped
  • 1 tsp honey

Instructions

  • firstly, take 1 avocado into a blender.
  • add ½ banana into it. you can increase the amount of banana if you prefer.
  • also, add 3 tbsp honey. alternatively use sugar for sweetness.
  • now add 1 cup chilled milk and blend to smooth smoothie.
  • add more milk if required to form a smooth smoothie.
  • for serving, take a tall glass and stick few banana slices onto the wall of glass.
  • pour in prepared avocado smoothie into it.
  • further, top with chopped nuts and garnish with 1 tsp of honey. i have used chopped cashew, almonds and pistachios.
  • finally, enjoy avocado smoothie chilled.
