bread dosa recipe | instant rava bread dosa | dosa using leftover bread slices with step by step photo and video recipe. dosa or idli recipes are essential breakfast recipes for most of the south indians if not to all. these were traditionally made with a combination of rice and urad dal batter and later fermented to prepare a crisp or soft crepe or pancakes. but due to the cosmopolitan and mix of cultural influence to the south indian cuisine, there are many instant dosa recipes and one popular way to make it is using leftover bread slices.

i am a huge fan of traditional recipes, but i also acknowledge the fact that it has its own complexity. well, we all crave a soft or crisp dosa for morning breakfast, but we may have forgotten to soak and grind the previous night. moreover, i live in a dry and cold place with natural fermentation and tricky options. i generally keep it in preheated oven or in an instant pot to achieve the natural fermentation, but still, you may not get the same taste and flavour as you get it in humid weather. hence i generally opt for instant dosa recipes like rava dosa and ragi dosa recipes. to that same category, one more addition is the instant bread dosa recipe with leftover sandwich bread slices. i am not saying that it would be exactly the same taste as traditional fermented dosa, but still, an ideal choice to satisfy the strong dosa craving.

furthermore, some more additional tips, suggestions and variants to the bread dosa recipe. firstly, the dosa batter prepared with bread is not similar to the traditional one. it has more maida content from the bread and hence do not stick to the dosa pan, if it extremely hot. you need to cook and roast it on a low flame. secondly, the use of curd can be skipped if you like to make a crisp and crunchy dosa. with the below-mentioned combination, i was able to get a crisp, but if you wonder, you may skip it. lastly, you may extend this recipe as per your taste and preferences. you may add potato masala to make it masala dosa or even add red chutney to make it mysore masala dosa.

I always wait eagerly for your new recipes. Very fond of them.
However Madam, in step 3 adding rawa to the mixture has been left out erroneously. I am sure you will fix this minor issue.
