Ingredients
- 1 cup rava / suji, fine
- 2 cup milk
- 1 cup ghee
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ tsp cardamom powder
- 2 tbsp cashew, chopped
Instructions
- Firstly, in a large bowl take 1 cup rava and soak it in 2 cup of milk for at least 30 minutes.
- In a large kadai take 1 cup ghee and 1 cup sugar.
- Keep stirring on low to medium flame until the sugar melts.
- Continue to cook until the sugar caramelizes and turns golden brown.
- Now add soaked rava and mix well.
- Keep mixing making sure everything is well combined.
- The sugar may crystallize, do not worry, as when you continue to cook, sugar melts.
- Cook until the rava absorbs all the milk and turns golden brown.
- Further, add ½ tsp cardamom powder and 2 tbsp cashew.
- Mix well making sure the ghee releases from the sides. Do not overcook, as the halwa turns hard and won't be soft and moist.
