well, i got this idea from my previous post of cheese cutlet recipe. i was hoping to prepare this snack for my friends, but all of sudden i got this idea to replace the cheese stuffing. basically to experiment the stuffing with pizza toppings like onion, jalapeno, olives with mozzarella cheese. i guess when you heard this name of cutlet pizza, you must be wondering how on earth you can have both pizza and cutlet in one recipe. there is no rocket science. it is very similar to pizza pockets where the plain flour-based pocket is replaced with aloo or potato-based crust. i personally have not tried with other vegetable mash, but i am confident you can also make it with your desired choice of vegetables and meat.
furthermore, i would also like to add some more additional tips, suggestions and variations to pizza cutlet recipe. firstly, the vegetable-based topping is open-ended and you can add as per your choice and preference. but ensure to chop those to the small size and can be easily stuffed inside the potato patties. secondly, if you feel your patties are soft and not holding the shape, you may deep freeze it for 30 mins before frying. also, make sure have less moisture in your potato mash so that it can be easily shaped. lastly, i personally recommend to pan fry or shallow fry these patties and avoid deep frying. this is for the fact that it has cheese inside and may burst and ooze out with excess heat.

Ingredients
for aloo mixture:
- 3 potato, boiled & mashed
- ½ tsp mixed herbs
- ½ tsp chilli flakes
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp corn flour
for pizza mixture:
- ½ onion, finely chopped
- ½ capsicum, chopped
- 2 tbsp sweet corn
- 5 olives, chopped
- 5 jalapeno, chopped
- ¼ cup pizza sauce
- ½ cup cheese, mozzarella/cheddar
- ¼ tsp mixed herbs
- ¼ tsp chilli flakes
for slurry:
- 2 tbsp corn flour
- 2 tbsp maida
- ¼ tsp pepper powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup water
other ingredients:
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- oil, for frying
Instructions
pizza stuffing preparation:
- firstly, in a small bowl take ½ onion, ½ capsicum, 2 tbsp sweet corn, 5 olives and 5 jalapeno.
- add ¼ cup pizza sauce and mix well making sure everything is well combined.
- now add ½ cup cheese, ¼ tsp mixed herbs and ¼ tsp chilli flakes.
- mix well and pizza stuffing is ready. keep aside.
pizza stuffed cutlet preparation:
- firstly, in a large bowl take 3 potato, ½ tsp mixed herbs, ½ tsp chilli flakes and ½ tsp salt.
- also, add 2 tbsp cornflour and mix well forming a dough. corn flour helps to absorb moisture.
- form a soft dough adding more cornflour if required.
- now grease hand with oil and pinch a ball sized mixture.
- flatten slightly and stuff in 2 tbsp prepared pizza stuffing.
- seal tight forming a round ball.
- now flatten slightly, to shape into a cutlet. you can shape the cutlet to your choice. keep aside.
- to prepare the slurry, in a small bowl take 2 tbsp corn flour, 2 tbsp maida, ¼ tsp pepper powder, ¼ tsp salt.
- form a smooth lump free batter adding ½ cup water.
- now dip the prepared cutlet into cornflour slurry.
- add coat with breadcrumbs. you can fry immediately, or freeze and prepare it up to a month.
- shallow fry in hot oil. you can alternatively, pan fry or deep fry.
- flip over and fry both sides until it turns golden brown.
- finally, enjoy pizza cutlet with tomato sauce.
