The recipe is very much inspired by meat-based fried rice, where meat is replaced with soya chunks. It would be an ideal lunch box or dinner meal that can be served with either Indian gravies or Chinese Manchurian sauces.

The fried rice recipe is one of the most popular rice items in India, if not in most of the countries. It is generally made with a choice of vegetables and meat with long-grain rice. One of the simple variations is Soya Fried Rice or Soya Rice known for its protein & carbs balanced meal.

I have posted quite a few variations of fried rice recipes till now, but I feel soya chunks fried rice is a more filling and balanced meal. As we all know, rice contains a lot of carbs in it, but misses the protein quotient in it. Generally, meat-based fried rice fills in the gap with the proteins offered with the meat toppings. But for vegetarians, it is not an option, and has to look for other sources. Hence the fried rice variations are generally served with lentil-based curries to make it a complete meal. Having said that the other option is to add protein-filled ingredients like meal maker as topping to veg fried rice. The texture and feel should be similar to meat and hence it should also attract meat-eaters.

Furthermore before wrapping it up, some important tips, suggestions, and variations to the soya fried rice recipe. It is a simple, easy, and healthy variant of the popular street-style fried rice with protein rice toppings, i.e. Soya Nuggets or Meal Maker. Soya Fried Rice most commonly known as Soya Rice is a popular alternative to traditional fried rice, mainly because of its balanced meal offerings. In other words, carbs from the rice and protein from soya nuggets make it a well-balanced meal. It does not require any additional side or condiments but tastes great with any manchurian gravy dish.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tbsp spring onion, chopped
  • 3 chilli, slit
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 tbsp peas
  • 3 tbsp sweet corn
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 5 beans, chopped
  • ½ capsicum, chopped
  • tsp salt
  • 1 cup boiled soya
  • 3 cup cooked rice
  • ½ tsp pepper powder
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp chilli sauce
  • 2 tbsp vinegar

Instructions
 

  • Firstly, in a kadai heat 2 tbsp oil, add 5 cloves garlic, 2 tbsp spring onion and 3 chilli.
  • Stir fry on high flame until the garlic shrinks.
  • Add 1 onion and stir fry till the onion shrinks.
  • Further add 3 tbsp peas, 3 tbsp sweet corn, 1 carrot, 5 beans, ½ capsicum and ½ tsp salt.
  • Stir fry till the vegetables turn crunchy.
  • Also, add 1 cup boiled soya and continue to fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add in 3 cup cooked rice, ½ tsp pepper powder, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp chilli sauce, 2 tbsp vinegar and 1 tsp salt.
  • Stir fry until the sauce is well coated with the rice.
  • Add in 2 tbsp spring onion and mix well.
  • Finally, enjoy Soya Fried Rice Recipe with sauce.
