Tomato Sevai Recipe | Instant Thakkali Semiya โ Healthy Breakfast with step-by-step photo and video recipe. South Indian breakfast recipes are known for their simplicity and the clean and healthy options they offer. Typically, these are rice-based breakfast meals, but other healthy options exist. One such easy and simple healthy recipe is the tomato sevai recipe known for its simplicity.
Semiya-based recipes are not new to Indian cuisine, and many recipes are offered for different meals. The most common is upma which is super popular for its clean and healthy option. However, the same upma has many different variations, and one popular and flavoured variant is instant thakkali semiya upma. Unlike the traditional upma, the Tomato Sevai is bright and attractive red, making it very appetising. In addition, when a ripe tomato masala is added to the basic upma masala, it makes it very special and interesting. Further, this variation can also be an ideal alternative to the monotonous same-upma recipe. Try this simple tomato semiya upma, and I trust all family members will appreciate it.
Furthermore, some more related additional tips, suggestions and variations to the tomato Sevai recipe. Firstly, I have used store-bought, non-sticky vermicelli noodles, which is ideal for this recipe. You may choose your preferred option, but ensure it is thin and yields non-sticky vermicelli noodles. Secondly, use ripe and juicy tomatoes for this upma as it yields a sweet and sour taste and flavour to the upma. If you feel you have sour tomatoes, you may add 1 tbsp of sugar to balance the taste. Lastly, if you think the tomato masala is intense and concentrated, you may add extra noodles to balance it. Also, add the cooked noodles in batches so that you know the spice level and masala concentration.
