poha aloo ke roti

poha paratha recipe | poha aloo ke roti | poha ke thepla recipe with step by step photo and video recipe. thepla or masala roti’s are not new to the Indian cuisine and are widely prepared across india for different purposes. these are generally prepared with one leafy or normal vegetable with additional seasoning and spices. but then it can also be extended to make a unique paratha or thepla roti by adding pohe and aloo to the roti dough or wheat flour dough.

i am a huge fan of masaledar roti or thepla as compared to the plain chapati or phulka roti’s. the main reason being it is healthy, tasty and more importantly, it is made with all the spices and seasonings. thus do not require any additional side dishes, curries or any fancy gravies. moreover, these are generally prepared with a choice of vegetables and hence makes poha paratha recipe complete meal. in this post, i have used potatoes mixed directly into the wheat flour dough with pohe. by adding potatoes the roti is loaded with fibre and the carbs are supplied from the added pohe. well, i have added pohe just because it is easy to just rinse with water and mix it with dough. but if you have some leftover cooked rice you can use it as an alternative to the pohe. but that is just another option, and pohe should be good for your first try.

furthermore, some more additional tips, suggestions and variants to the poha paratha recipe. firstly, the main reason for using thin poha is that it easily gets mixed with wheat flour when rinsed with water. you may use thick or medium poha, but it may require additional soaking and that may add up to your cooking time. secondly, in terms of adding vegetables, it is open-ended and you may use any type of vegetables with poha. as matter of fact, you may also use leafy vegetables like spinach, methi (fenugreek leaves) and even cabbage to poha aloo ke roti. lastly, the roti is loaded with all the spices and flavours and do not require any additional curry or gravies. but if you have any leftover curries or even raita and pickle could be an ideal choice.

finally, i would like to add my other related roti naan recipes collection with this post of poha paratha recipe. it mainly includes my other types of roti recipes like green papaya roti, avalakki rotti, onion kulcha, aloo puri, roti tacos, chole bhature, poori, tandoori roti on tawa, moong dal puri, ragi roti. further to these i would also like to add some more related recipe categories like,
