RICE - 1 CUP

firstly, in a large bowl take 1 cup rice, 2 tbsp urad dal and ½ tsp methi

WATER

rinse with water making sure they are clean

DRIED RED CHILLI -10

now add 10 dried red chilli and soak in water for 5 hours

AFTER - 5 HOURS

after 5 hours, the chilli would have soaked well

SOAKED CHILLI

to prepare masala paste, now take the soaked chilli into mixi jar

COCONUT - 1 CUP

add 1 cup coconut, 2 tbsp coriander seeds, 1 tbsp cumin, ¼ cup jaggery, 3 tbsp tamarind pulp, ½ tsp turmeric and 1 tsp salt.

BLEND  - SMOOTH PASTE

grind to smooth paste adding water as required

MASALA PASTE

transfer the masala paste into a large bowl and keep aside

SOAKED RICE

in the same mixi take soaked rice

BLEND - SMOOTH

blend to smooth paste

RICE BATTER

now transfer the rice batter to the same bowl of the masala past

WELL COMBINED

mix well making sure everything is well combined. note, always grind rice and masala separately, else masala paste will not be smooth.

CABBAGE - 3 CUP

further, add 3 cup of cabbage and 1 cup water.

CABBAGE DOSA BATTER

mix well forming a smooth flowing consistency dosa batter.

SPREAD SLIGHTLY

grease the pan and pour a ladleful of batter. spread gently keeping slightly thick

COCONUT OIL 

now pour ½ tsp coconut oil

COVER & COOK

cover and cook for a minute, until the dosa is cooked well

COOK UNIFORMLY

flip over and cook on another side. recommend cooking both sides as the dosa is slightly thick and cabbage is raw.

READY TO EAT

finally, enjoy cabbage dosa with butter or coconut oil
