bhel puri recipe | mumbai bhelpuri recipe | bhel poori – street food of india recipe with step by step photo and video recipe. bhel puri is a famous and popular street food of india. this indian street food or more commonly termed as ‘chaat’ is lip smacking snack for your taste buds. the interesting part of bhelpuri is the way it is eaten. most commonly, all the other indian street foods are eaten with the spoons, whereas bhel puri is consumed with hard small puris served with this chaat.

i cannot clearly remember when did i start to like this chaat recipe. however, it was my uncle who use to work in mumbai and introduced this recipe to my family. he use to come to our hometown during diwali and all my cousins use to request him to prepare this snack for kids. behl puri and samosa chaat were his signature recipes. he used to live near juhu, mumbai and i think he must have learnt all chaat recipes from those street vendors of juhu beach, perhaps.

bhelpuri

i was quite intrigued to learn the history of bhelpuri and i was astonished by the fact that there are several versions to it. in kolkata this chaat is known as jhaal muri and in karnataka it is known as churmuri. according to wiki, bhel puri must have been originated from the slums of mumbai, but it is not clear when it came out of it. surprisingly, today these chaat items prepared with green chutney and tamarind chutney; are widely accepted by all classes of our society and is even served in big food joints of india.

chaats are my famous weekend snack recipes. if you are looking for more snack recipes then check samosa, bread 65, idli manchuri, gobi manchuri, bread rolls, misal pav, pav bhaji, momos, vada pav, palak pakoda, cutlet, dhokla etc. also, i request you to check my other recipes collection from my website like,
