notes:

  • to make it spicy add one green chilli chopped
  • you can also add grated ginger or veggies like peas, beans, cabbage and capsicum.
  • it is very important to roast sooji and oats. else your idlis will be sticky.
  • better to use sour courd, if not add few drops of lemon juice. so that baking soda can easily react and make your idlis fluffy.

  1. Amazing recipes… all of them are so easy to make! Very tasty also…❤ thank you for making this awesome blog!
I have question regarding this recipe. Can I use Quaker Oats? Or any thing that’s specific for the oats?

    • Thanks Anitha. I have not used it but I don’t see why it should not work. Let me know how it tasted for you!

  2. I made these today, and they turned out to be delicious. when I tried to remove the idlies from the mold, they seemed soggy and uncooked, but once they cooled down a little, they were perfect.

  3. Hi,

Tried the Oats Idli and they turned out great!
Keeping my 2 yr old interested in his food is a huge challenge and your instant idli recipies are a life safer 🙂 . I tried the Sabudana idli too but the batter became a little watery so the Idli’s didn’t turn out that great. Will try again though… Good work! Love your short, to the point videos!

    Best!
