Ingredients
for besan masala:
- 2 tbsp oil
- ½ cup besan
- ½ tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- ½ tsp cumin powder
- ½ tsp coriander powder
- ½ tsp garam masala
- pinch hing
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp aamchur
for bharwa mirchi:
- 5 chilli
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin
- 5 cloves garlic, crushed
- ½ onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp coriander, chopped
Instructions
- firstly, in a pan heat 2 tbsp oil. add ½ cup besan and roast on low flame.
- roast until the besan turns golden brown and aromatic.
- transfer to the bowl and cool completely.
- add ½ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp chilli powder, ½ tsp cumin powder, ½ tsp coriander powder, ½ tsp garam masala, pinch hing, ½ tsp salt, and 1 tsp aamchur.
- mix well making sure everything is well combined.
- take chilli and slit in the centre.
- stuff the masala generously. if the chillis are spicy, you can remove the seeds of chilli.
- now heat 2 tbsp oil. splutter 1 tsp cumin, 5 cloves garlic and ½ onion.
- add in stuffed chilli and fry for 2 minutes.
- cover and simmer for 5 minutes or until the chilli softens. fry in between to prevent the chilli from burning.
- add in leftover masala and mix well.
- simmer for 3 minutes or until everything is well combined.
- now add 2 tbsp coriander and mix well.
- finally, enjoy Bharwa Mirchi Recipe with roti or rice.
