Stuffed vegetable recipes are always a popular and favorite side dish in Indian cuisine. It is typically stuffed with a blend of spices and is used in myriad ways like curries and snacks. One such multipurpose stuffed vegetable recipe is bharwa mirchi recipe or stuffed chilies which can be used in curries or simply served as a snack meal.

Ingredients
  

for besan masala:

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • ½ cup besan
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • pinch hing
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp aamchur

for bharwa mirchi:

  • 5 chilli
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 5 cloves garlic, crushed
  • ½ onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp coriander, chopped

Instructions
 

  • firstly, in a pan heat 2 tbsp oil. add ½ cup besan and roast on low flame.
  • roast until the besan turns golden brown and aromatic.
  • transfer to the bowl and cool completely.
  • add ½ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp chilli powder, ½ tsp cumin powder, ½ tsp coriander powder, ½ tsp garam masala, pinch hing, ½ tsp salt, and 1 tsp aamchur.
  • mix well making sure everything is well combined.
  • take chilli and slit in the centre.
  • stuff the masala generously. if the chillis are spicy, you can remove the seeds of chilli.
  • now heat 2 tbsp oil. splutter 1 tsp cumin, 5 cloves garlic and ½ onion.
  • add in stuffed chilli and fry for 2 minutes.
  • cover and simmer for 5 minutes or until the chilli softens. fry in between to prevent the chilli from burning.
  • add in leftover masala and mix well.
  • simmer for 3 minutes or until everything is well combined.
  • now add 2 tbsp coriander and mix well.
  • finally, enjoy Bharwa Mirchi Recipe with roti or rice.
