Furthermore, some more related and additional tips and suggestions for a crisp bread tikki recipe. Firstly, I have used white sandwich bread slices for this recipe and these are ideal bread choices. It helps to give shape and texture. However, you may use other types like toast or brown bread, but avoid multigrain bread. Secondly, I have shaped these like a cutlet, but the shape is not critical and you may shape it as you wish. You may shape it like sticks or even cylindrical cubes. Lastly, you may have to be careful while deep frying. Do not make the mixture wet and has to be semi-dry. This helps in deep frying and also shaping it. About Bread Tikki:
It is basically an adaptation of the popular cutlet recipe made with leftover bread slices and mashed potatoes. In other words, it is an easy and instant version of a tikki or cutlet made without fancy meat or vegetable requirements. Bread tikki can be an ideal party starter or appetizer for any occasion and can be served with simple chutney and dips. Moreover, it is an ideal snack recipe to finish any leftover bread slices.
Typically it is made and served as a street food snack using the panko bread crumbs but this can be made with any choice of breadcrumbs. As a matter of fact, the color, crisp and crunchy texture is derived from the use of breadcrumbs. I personally recommend using panko breadcrumbs, but you may use any other type to have the same crispiness. You may not get the same color but it is just to make it more attractive.
