Instant Oats Rava Dosa | Oats Onion Dosa with step-by-step photo and video recipe. Dosa recipes are one of the common and staple foods for many South Indians. The traditional dosa is made with a strict portion of rice and urad dal. But it takes a lot of planning, time, and effort to make it. Hence there are myriad instant dosa recipes and oats dosa is one such quick and easy dosa recipe with a crisp texture.
To be honest, I am a huge fan of traditional dosa recipes made with rice and urad dal. In a month I end up making dosa for a minimum of 10-15 days. I generally make a large amount of multipurpose batter and use it for different dosas. Having said that my current location is a dry and wet place with cold weather. Hence the fermentation can be tricky and I have to use the preheated oven or even keep it in sunlight. Hence I always keep myself handy with some instant dosa recipe which typically does not need such a process. Oats dosa and rava dosa recipes are one such simple and easy breakfast dish that can be made in minutes. Also, the dish is fully loaded and generally does not need any extra side dish.
Anyway, I would add some tips, suggestions, and variations for a perfect crisp & tasty oats dosa recipe. Firstly, I used quick-cooking oats for this recipe and powdered them to a fine powder. This can then be pre-mixed with semolina and rice flour and can be stored for future use. Secondly, the texture and consistency of the dosa batter must be fine like neer dosa or watery. Also, the batter has to be poured on top of the hot griddle to form a crisp texture. Lastly, the oats rava dosa turns out to be crisper when it is prepared with a cast iron griddle. But at the same time, you can also make it via a non-stick dosa pan, but you may have to roast it on low flame.
Finally, I request you to check my other popular dosa recipe collection with this post of instant oats dosa recipe. About Oats Dosa:
It is basically an easy and simple dosa recipe made with quick rolled oats with other ingredients like rava and rice flour. The oats dosa recipe can also be a perfect alternative to the traditional recipe as it does not take much time to prepare the batter and can be easily poured into a dosa pan. Once fried it would turn to a thin and crisp crepe and can be easily served with any choice of spicy chutney and sambar for morning breakfast.
Additionally, the instant oats rava dosa can be an ideal alternative to the traditional rava dosa too.
