soft rava chapati

sooji roti recipe for weight loss | soft rava chapati | suji ke phulke with step by step photo and video recipe. roti, chapati or flatbread recipes are one of the basic and essential requirements for most lunch and dinner meals. these are generally prepared with either wheat flour or maida plain flour which gives the required texture and softness to these bread. yet these can also be made with other types of flour to make it healthy and tasty, and semolina based rava chapati is one such variant.

well, you may be wondering how this semolina based roti is better when compared to the traditional wheat-based roti or chapati. we all know that semolina is prepared using durum wheat, yet it is significantly better in nutrients than wheat flour. basically, a cup of semolina contains more protein and calories compared to plain wheat flour. more protein means, it would fill you more quickly and hence helps to reduce your weight. in addition, it is also high in minerals and vitamins and hence a healthy alternative to the flour-based roti and chapati. yet, when it comes to the taste of the bread, there is no comparison. we can have rava chapati as a healthy alternative but you may not get the same taste like wheat. as matter of fact, when you compare the store-bought flour and semolina bread, you would always prefer the flour one. it has better taste and more importantly a better texture. semolina can be an ideal alternative if you need something healthy or if you are looking for a change to your lunch or dinner meal.

in addition, some more additional tips, suggestions and variants to the sooji roti recipe for weight loss. firstly, i generally use the medium-sized bombay rava for most of the rava based recipes. however, in this, i have used fine rava. it would be much easier to knead and roll the chapati with fine rava. however, if using bombay rava, make sure to give a pulse in mixi before cooking. secondly, unlike the traditional roit’s, you may serve these with simple condiments like chatni, spicy pickle or any type of dips and sauce too. lastly, if you have any leftover dough from this recipe, you can use it to prepare crispy and crunchy vada. you may need to add herbs like ginger, coriander and spices like pepper and jeera before deep-frying those.
